WivMe — Community Guidelines
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Welcome to WivMe!
WivMe helps adults connect with others to enjoy shared activities, whether that's a walk, a sporting event, a coffee, a class, a cultural event, or a community meet-up.
Our goal is to create a welcoming, trustworthy, and safe community where people can build genuine friendships and enjoy meaningful experiences together.
These Community Guidelines form part of our Terms of Service. By using WivMe, you agree to follow them. If you breach these guidelines, we may remove content, restrict access to features, suspend your account, or permanently remove you from the platform.
These Community Guidelines apply when you use WivMe through our website, web app or mobile applications for iOS and Android.
What WivMe Is For
WivMe is a platform for finding platonic activity companions and social connections.
WivMe is not:
-
A dating or matchmaking platform
-
A place for romantic or sexual interactions
-
A marketplace for goods or services
-
A fundraising platform
-
A counselling, crisis support, or emergency service
-
To be used for political, protest or similar activities.
We encourage users to connect through shared interests and activities, with the aim of fostering friendship, companionship, and community.
Our Community Principles
To help everyone have a positive experience, we ask all members to follow these principles:
Be Respectful
Treat everyone with courtesy, kindness, and consideration. Differences of opinion are natural, but personal attacks, intimidation, and hostility are not acceptable.
Be Honest
Use your real identity and provide accurate information about yourself. Your profile photo, description, and activity information should reflect who you are.
Be Inclusive
WivMe welcomes people of all backgrounds, identities, abilities, beliefs, and life experiences. Everyone deserves to feel respected and included.
Be Reliable
If you commit to an activity or event, make every effort to attend. If your plans change, let people know as early as possible.
Help Create a Safe Community
Look out for one another, respect personal boundaries, and use the reporting tools if something does not feel right.

Child Safety and Sexual Exploitation
WivMe is an adults-only platform for people aged 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Users must not create, upload, share, request, solicit, promote, distribute or facilitate content or behaviour involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, trafficking, or requesting or sharing sexual images involving anyone under 18.
If you encounter content or behaviour that may involve the abuse or exploitation of a child, report it immediately using WivMe's in-app reporting tools.
WivMe may remove content, restrict or terminate accounts, preserve relevant information where lawful and necessary, and report suspected or confirmed child sexual abuse or exploitation to the appropriate law-enforcement or child-protection authorities in accordance with applicable law.
Where WivMe becomes aware of CSAM, we will take appropriate action, including removing the content and making any reports required by law to the relevant authority.

Protecting Vulnerable Members
WivMe is designed to help combat loneliness and social isolation, and many members may be older adults or otherwise vulnerable.
We take the protection of vulnerable users extremely seriously.
Behaviour that seeks to manipulate, exploit, pressure, deceive, or financially benefit from vulnerable members may result in immediate account removal and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
Staying Safe When Meeting in Person
Meeting new people should be enjoyable, but it's important to take sensible precautions. We recommend that you:
-
Meet in public places, particularly when meeting someone for the first time
-
Tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going and who you are meeting
-
Use WivMe's safety and check-in features
-
Share personal information gradually and only when you feel comfortable
-
Use WivMe's staged location-sharing tools rather than sharing your home address
-
Trust your instincts and leave if a situation feels unsafe
If you believe you are in immediate danger, call 999 or your local emergency services. While WivMe provides safety tools and moderation measures, we cannot guarantee the actions of individual users. Members remain responsible for their own decisions and conduct.
Reporting and Blocking
If someone breaks these guidelines or makes you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or unwelcome, please report or block them using the tools available within the app. Reports are handled confidentially and reviewed by trained members of our team. We may also use automated systems to identify potentially harmful content, suspicious behaviour, or breaches of these guidelines. Following a review, we may:
-
Remove content
-
Issue warnings
-
Restrict account features
-
Temporarily suspend accounts
-
Permanently remove users from the platform
Where required by law, we may share information with law enforcement or regulatory authorities. If you believe we have made a mistake, you may be able to appeal certain moderation decisions.

Immediate danger: Call 999
Enforcement
We assess each situation based on:
-
The seriousness of the conduct
-
The risk posed to individuals or the community
-
The user's history and previous violations
-
Whether the behaviour was intentional or repeated
Some violations, particularly those involving predatory behaviour, harassment, sexual misconduct, fraud, exploitation, or threats to safety, may result in immediate and permanent removal from WivMe.
A Final Word
WivMe exists to help people build friendships, discover new experiences, and feel part of a community. Before posting, messaging, or organising an activity, ask yourself:
"Will this help someone feel safe, respected, included, and welcome?"
If the answer is yes, you're helping make WivMe the kind of community people will love being part of.
